Support groups

MND Queensland recognises that feeling connected to others is vital during this time where social distancing and isolation are now the norm. We've introduced MND Online Support Group Meetings where you can participate via Microsoft Teams using your computer or tablet (and webcam) or mobile phone and you're also welcome to attend our Oxley office in person.

Our free support groups are held at 11AM each Thursday for people with MND, their family and carers.

Online MND Support Groups have been a great success especially for those living in the regions and we're going to be continuing this online service and mix them with in-person support group meetings as we come out of the pandemic.

If you would like an invitation, or support to participate, or would like to register your interest in attending in person, please contact us by calling 07 3372 9004 or email supportgroups@mndaq.org.au.

Check our website's event calendar to find out when the next sessions are being held.

Upcoming Events

MND Queensland special presentations

Once a month, during our regular Thursday meetings, we have an MND Queensland Special Presentation with a variety of guest presenters talking about different topics of interest to people impacted by MND. These sessions are very useful and educational, and we've been recording them to make them available to view at any time on our YouTube channel.

Online Community

You may also like to join our Facebook Group – MND Queensland Community Group.  This is a private chat group for clients of MND Queensland, their families and informal carers. A place to discuss topics of mutual interest and to share your experiences with Motor Neurone Disease, in the hope that you may offer support and connection to others on a similar journey. MND Queensland Staff will also share useful information in this group and contribute to the group discussion as appropriate.
