Mates Move for MND

12:00AM - 11:59PM Wednesday 1st - Tuesday 28th February 2023
Registrations for this event are now closed.

This February, move your way to increase awareness of MND!

Imagine one day, you couldn’t go for your morning run because you could not lift your foot… this is a very real moment for someone with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

People with MND will lose the ability to move, speak, swallow and eventually breath. It progressively steals a person's independence, eventually requiring the use of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs, hospital beds, cough assist machines and hi-tech communication devices.

Help us increase awareness of the impact and through fundraising provide supports such as therapies and equipment to assist as people with MND as they lose movement.

The Challenge

We challenge you during the month of February to walk, run, ride, swim, or just move in whatever way you like for 40km, 40 minutes, 40 laps, 40 seconds... The choice of challenge is yours, but to tie in with our 40th anniversary, we encourage you to use 40 as your inspiration.

40 your way!

You could run 40km a week, walk 40 minutes a day, swim 40 laps, plank for 40 seconds a day, whatever you choose over the month of February. You can choose whatever activity you like and even change it up! One day you can ride, the next  swim, the following day  yoga… It's your choice, in your location! Use your smart watch or phone to track your movements and change it to kilometres to see how far your movements can make a difference to those with MND who will lose movement!

Register for free and tag a mate to complete the challenge as duo with you. Motivate each other to be healthy and fundraise as a team to provide life-changing support!

Remember to share your fundraising page with all of your contacts and tell people why Moving 4 MND is important to you and use the hashtag #MM4MND to help increase awareness.

Why 40? In recognition of MND Queensland’s 40 year anniversary of providing care and support and for families impacted by Motor Neurone Disease.

Register (for free) now, set up your fundraising page and share it to help increase awareness about Motor Neurone Disease and raise vital funds.
