MND Queensland's services are provided through member support, community donations and a small amount of government funding.  Due to our limited resources, our staff work part-time so please understand if we cannot always respond to your needs immediately. We will certainly do our best. 

Our services include:

Information

 

We run an information line for anyone wanting to know more about motor neurone disease, including people with a daignosis, family members, carers and health/care workers. The information line number is 07 3372 9004 and the service is available from 9am to 4pm, Tuesday to Thursday.

Our small team can provide you with information about motor neurone disease, services in Queensland, current research and upcoming events (such as information nights and  awareness-raising events).

Support

 

 Once you have registered as a client of MND Queensland, our regional advisers can offer you information and advice about living with MND as well as suggestions for other services you may need over time.  

Equipment loan

 

 We have a pool of specialist aids and equipment that are available to registered clients to help maintain independence and quality of life.  However please note that we have very limited numbers of some major items and our waiting lists are often long. Where we are unable to meet demand we regret that waiting lists will be closed. Where possible we will try to provide alternative suppliers you may wish to contact direct

Social support

 

 In some areas members get together to offer each other social support. As well as sharing their own journeys, social support groups can help to break down the sense of isolation that can be felt by people living with MND and their families.  Some also actively raise funds for research or to support the work of MND Queensland.

Please note that these support groups are not facilitated by MND Queensland and are convened by interested members of the local community.
