The Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland have provided the following services for the past 22 years:
The MNDAQ receive no recurrent government funding and rely heavily on voluntary donations and community support.
By joining the fight against MND you will be helping the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland carry on our vital service within Queensland.
Nobody living with Motor Neurone Disease should have cause to feel isolated. The Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland (MNDAQ) have 6 support groups throughout Queensland and are run by teams of volunteers who meet regularly to offer each other support and to exchange information. Many of them either have MND, are carers, friends or have lost someone close to then from MND.
They know first hand what people may be going through and provide much needed grass root support to those affected by MND.
These support groups are also successful at raising community awareness and much needed funds to meet the practical needs of people living with MND and to finance research.
Our support groups work with many volunteers who give whatever time they can doing all sorts of jobs – helping with fundraising, helping with the production of MNDAQ bi-monthly newsletter, using the local media and much more. If you feel you too can make a difference – your support will be greatly appreciated.
By becoming a member of the MNDAQ you will be kept updated about the current research being undertaken, what’s happening, coming events, contacts for support groups, recipes, newspaper articles and features of how people living with MND cope.
Membership is $5.00 to people with MND who live in Queensland or receive direct services from MNDAQ. An annual fee of $25 is payable by all others wishing to join the Association. Membership now applies for a year from the date of application. A reminder notice will be sent when renewal falls due.
